A WORLD IN DANGER
If we look at the Earth in 2022 and the prevention messages of NGO, how can we not be afraid of a future where nature will be completely destroyed? If we want to be able to act, we must already open our eyes to what could happen if we do nothing.
Earth in 2022
- 24 February = After many military operations, Russia officially declares war to Ukraine. It’s the beginning of a long succession of battles including bombs that destroying local flora and fauna.
- 28 February = New IPCC report. Climate change has still accelerated. We only have eight years to change things. After that, it will be too late. It’s the last hope for nature and for humanity.
- 3 July = Collapse of the Marmolada glacier in the Italian Alps. A block of ice broke from the glacier before moving at a speed of 300 km/h. The previous day, a record temperature was recorded at the top of the glacier (10°C).
- Summer = The Earth is burning. Many countries have devastating wildfires and a heat wave never seen before. In the Gironde region, the balance is currently 26,726 hectares of forest burned since the beginning of the year.
- August 31 = In Pakistan, the monsoon is much denser than normal. At that time the total area of flooded land in the country is 86,000 km². This area represents almost 10% of the country’s surface.
And Earth in future ?
The previous list is not a complete list of global warming’s consequences in 2022. However, it’s already full and representative of a world in decline. Of course there have always been events like this in history, but they are more and more frequent / deadly.
" Of course there have always been events like this in history, but they are more and more frequent / deadly. "
Glaciers like the Marmolada risk disappearing in the future. Whole forests will still be destroyed and will not grow again or in too many years. In these forests, wildlife is dying. Entire species are threatened or will be threatened in the future. Natural disasters are increasing as in Pakistan and will be even more regular over the years. If these disasters continue, we will have to prepare us for a wave of migration. Even more people on a small boats with their children in their arms. Even more suffering. Even more death. All this is a sign of a suffering and decline planet.
But we will also go to our own end by destroying our own habitat. I don’t know what the future will be, but I know one thing: despite these events, despite what may happen, governments continue to deny the evidence. People continue to turn a blind eye. Many organizations are desperately trying to alert us. However nothing changes and this list grows every year. And if this list grows, how can we not be scared about a certain end. An end of all the fauna and flora. An end of the whole Earth. And consequently, an end of humanity. So yes I wonder what the consequences will be? Will my future children be able to live a good life? Will there be a future generation? Are the days numbered for humanity? When we will act? A lot of people are asking these same questions.
